The EU GDPR is designed to harmonise data privacy laws across Europe. It aims to protect all EU citizens from privacy and data breaches. It replaces the Data Protection Act (DPA).
Our Practice Privacy Notice gives more detail information about what information we hold on you, how we manage it, who we share it with and how we protect it.

Type 1 Opt-Out prevents information being shared outside a GP practice for purposed other than direct care.
The data held in your GP medical records is shared with other healthcare professionals for the purposes of your individual care. It is also shared with other organisations to support health and care planning and research.
If you do not want your personally identifiable patient data to be shared outside of your GP practice for purposes except your own care, you can register an opt-out with your GP practice. This is known as a Type 1 Opt-out.
How to Register Type 1 Opt-Out
If a patient does not want their identifiable data to be shared outside of the GP Practice for purposes except for their own care they can register an opt-out with the GP Practice, Patients can opt out at any time, and they can change their mind. The same form can be used for either request.
